All sitz bath sizes are in a resealable plastic jar. Soothing Sitz is a perfect combination of the following ingredients:
- Pacific Sea Salt: Known to pull moisture from
the air and help it to adhere to the body, which keeps the skin moist
and supple instead of dry and cracked.
- Comfrey Leaves: Have much value as an external
remedy, for sprains, swellings and bruises, and as a poultice or sitz
bath tea, for cuts regardless of their severity. It has been deemed
excellent for soothing pain in any tender or inflamed part of the body
and is useful in any kind of inflammatory swelling. It is know to
promote healing of bruised, cut, or broken parts and the powdered herb,
has been used by surgeons, if dissolved in water to a mucilage (paste or
glue-like substance) to completely heal tears and incisions.
- Echinacea Purpuria: Increases bodily resistance
to infection and is used for boils, septicemia, and other impurities of
the blood. It is a well-known antiseptic that is also useful for the
treatment of hemorrhoids.
- Lavender: Was used in the swabbing of wounds in
the midst of a War and thus, the French Academy of Medicine is giving
attention to the oil for this and other antiseptic surgical purposes.
The oil is successfully used in the treatment of sores, varicose ulcers,
burns and scalds. In France, it is a regular thing for most households
to keep a bottle of Essence of Lavender as a domestic remedy against
bruises, bites, and trivial aches and pains, both external and internal.
Lavender also helps to calm and relax the body and mind providing for
the kind of pampering and sheer relaxation one needs following labor and
delivery.
- Plantain Leaves: Have some value in arresting
hemorrhage, thus when rubbed on cuts, etc., or as an application to
burns and scalds, the leaves will afford relief and will stay the
bleeding of minor wounds. In the case of a tired, stretched, or even
torn perineum, these leaves aid in the healing process and help prevent
chaffing often caused by the use of feminine pads used during the
postpartum period.
- Red Raspberry Leaf: Can be used as wash for
wounds and ulcers. The leaves, combined with the other ingredients, make
a good soak for cleansing wounds, burns and scalds, removing swelling
and promoting healing.
- Shepherd’s Purse: One of the best specifics for
stopping hemorrhages of all kinds. It helps bleeding from wounds,
inward or outward, and is especially useful for uterine hemorrhage and
postpartum vaginal bleeding.
- Witch Hazel Leaf and Bark: Provide astringent,
tonic, and sedative properties, valuable in checking internal and
external hemorrhage, most efficient in the treatment of hemorrhoids, a
good painkiller for the same, and are useful for bruises and
inflammatory swellings. If applied to a burst varicose vein it will stop
the bleeding and often save life by its instant application.
- Uva Ursi Leaves: One of the most powerful
remedies to urinary tract infections and promote excellent urinary tract
health. They work beautifully to cleanse and ward off infection that
can so easily threaten a woman's uterine and urinary tract health. They
are also very beneficial in fighting and cleansing the vaginal tract of
Group B Streptococcus. Yarrow flowers open the pores freely and purify
the blood. They also work well in the case of bleeding varicosities.
